Gonghura Chuttney

Andhra recipes are famous for their taste and spice. Gonghura chuttney is a favourite dish for me.In Chennai Andhra meals hotels serve this special dish along with Dhal powder and Ghee. It could be mixed with hot rice or idly, dosas. Keep a glass of water ready if your tounge burns.
Ghonghura is available in bottles, it can also  be bought readymade from Sri Krishna sweets,Adayar Anand Bhawan , Grand sweets or Saravana Bhawan branches all over.
How to make Ghongura Chutney in your house? here are some tips for you

Needed - Pulicha Keerai or Ghonghura green leaves, full poondu -2, dry red chillies-6, Tamarind a small round, Vadagam-1 teaspone, salt and oil.
Clean the Ghongura leaves in water and cut it into small pieces.Remove upper layer of Poondu and crush it. Put some oil in a Kadai and add Ghonghura leaves and fry it well. remove that from Kadai and again put some oil. add poondu and 4 chillies and fry them .keep them seperate and again fry some vadagams. Now you have fried Vadagam, Keerai and Poondu masala.
Use a mixi or grinder .Put tamarind, salt, ghongura fry, and crush. after that add vadagam, poondu, chillie fry and crush upto one pulse.add some oil. now your home made Ghongura chutney is ready

Bangalore and its taste

Recently I visited Banglaore or Bengalure whatever you call.
It is a lovely city with excellent entertainment and pleasing climate.I collected a no of articles on Bangalore and prepared a list on what to eat there.Though this is not the most helpful list it could be a good starter. I wish to add more on this page. please keep checking.
1.MTR Full meals in LalBaugh seems very famous with tourists and North Indians. But It dissappointed me a lot.I spent nearly 200 for a meal and I had to wait one hour for my number to be called. With many expectations I sat hungry at 3-30 pm.Food was served  hot but it lacked some taste.Carrot poriyal was good, but Sambar and Kozhambu was very poor compared to what I taste in Ordinary hotels in Chennai. Rasam was good.
2. Shree Sagar- Malleshwaram circle- Benna masaladosai is its speciality
3. Appu Chats- a small bunk opp Adiga;s Hotel at 16th cross 11th main Sampise Road- Pani puris are excellent.
4.Cafe Sahyadhiri -Basaveswaram 3rd stage 3rd block- 8th main road- near SBI
5. FOOD STREET near LALBAUGH west gate- many stalls to eat
6. V.K.Bakery- congress bun

Meals for the noon

I read an article in a weekly about KasiVinayagam Mess at Akbar Sahib street,( near Chepauk Cricket stadium on the way to Triplicane) and their traditional method of cooking. I was informed in that article, about their great taste. So as a food lover I went there for a trial. The local people said it was a excellent place to eat.Though a small mess it looked neat. But hand wash tap and it's cleaneness may not appeal to many. The table had numbers.Token's are issued at a price of Rs.45 & extra eight rupees for the curd.We have to wait at the entrance for our number table to be vacated. After a wait of 10 minutes I sat at front of a banana leaf. There was a yellowish aviyal served first. It was a mixture of vegetables including carrot. It was prepared well and had a quality. Then there was a poriyal of Aloo which  I always like to eat. The potatoes were soft and I thanked God for that.
Rice was cooked hastily. It stuck in as a ball and hard to seperate. Sambar haf Mullangi which I do not like at all. But it also had few drumsticks which I like.So I took half heartedly. The next dound of Kara Kozhumbu was missing. Instead they served Ghee and dhal as starter before sambar. Dhal was great and when I asked for some more, the server said it would cost me more.Rasam too was good and the curd superb. Still I could not guess what marks I need to give for it. So  I decided to check in the next day.
This time I went earlier around 12.30pm.The tables were empty. I need not wait. This time there was different menu. It was Vazhakkai poriyal and Keerai koottu. Both had a good taste. This time Sambar was with drumsticks minus the mullangi. So  I ate satisfiedly. this time  I was lucky enough to have a cup of Kara Kozhumbu. It was real taste. So my image of the place grew. I wish to give it 60 marks.I added this place to visit a while with my family.
